exordium - n. a beginning or introduction especially to a discourse or composition why advent? earlier versions were titled 'page eleven'. this is a second coming of sorts. why eleven? eleven is my favorite number. i've been asked many times why. the answer is simple, "i don't know". however, if i had to self-analyze and come up with an answer i'd say we live in a ten-based world. ten fingers, ten toes. our number system is based on tens as well. eleven is one step above the average, a little bit above the 'norm'. it's also isolated. it's a prime number, and the word 'eleven' actually comes from the german "ainlif", or "one left". eleven represents the odd man out. incidentally, this is how i perceive myself. a notch above the world, and separated from it because of that fact. who are you? i'm a musician and an artist from a patch of somewhere in the middle of nowhere. i call myself chamber zane, a misnomer i use almost exclusively. i write and record music for an ambient/industrial project called method of necrosis. i listen to black sabbath and pink floyd; marilyn manson and nine inch nails; the beatles and jefferson airplane; megadeth and tourniquet; alice cooper and ozzy osbourne; wumpscut and aphex twin; tom petty and roger mcguinn; white zombie and klank; gary numan and joy electric; ac/dc and aerosmith; nirvana and the cure; devo and oingo boingo. i read horror; poe, lovecraft, asimov, bloch, king; as well as things like dr. seuss and lewis carroll for good measure. in fact i named my cat dinah after alice's cat in alice in wonderland. i study serial killers, zodiac and ed gein especially. i play all those dark bloody video games that are supposed to make you shoot up high schools, and i have a more-than-usual interest in super nintendo. i smoke marlboro reds and take antidepressants. i'm not 'goth' and i don't think i'm scary. i've never seen the ocean. my favorite food is dry sugar cereal (i hate the taste of milk). i watch cheesy old horror movies; american international made some of the best films in motion picture history. i try to avoid television, but i can't resist the occasional episode of the twilight zone or leave it to beaver. i don't get to sleep easily, and i rarely remember my dreams even if i remember dreaming at all, which in itself is uncommon. i try not to take myself too seriously and i'm generally not interested in outside opinions of myself. i believe in god. i'm a tech geek and like almost anything with buttons or batteries that lights up or makes noise. i'm old enough to buy my own cigarettes, die for my country, and watch pornography; but i can't buy alcohol. i have a dry cynical sarcastic sense of humor with a touch of nonsense. if i wasn't busy being a rock star i'd be a stand-up comedian in the grey area between sam kinison, lewis black, and gallagher. overall i'm a quiet introverted person and prefer the company of a few close friends over a large group of aquaintances. at the same time i'm a performance artist and see the world as my stage.
